Gliese 581 g

Gliese 581 g, also known as GJ 581 g was a candidate exoplanet orbiting Gliese 581 a near-by star that is 22 light years away from our sun. The planet was 0.13 AU from it's star, so it is in the habitable zone and it was bigger than Earth, So it could've been an earth-like planet with lakes, rivers, oceans and life. But later it was confirmed the planet did not exist.

Discovery

The planet's discovery was claimed in September 2010 by some astronomers at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii, but later it was confirmed that Gliese 581 g did not existed and it was only an error.
