Golop
Golop is a village in Gönc District in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary. In 2024, 540 people lived there.
Location
The settlement is geographically located in the Tokaj-Zemplén Mountain region, on the northeastern edge of the Szerencs Hills, along the lower section of the Szerencs Stream. Its neighboring settlements are Monok (5 km) and Tállya (2 km), with the nearest towns being Abaújszántó (6 km) and Szerencs (8 km).
Population
In 2022, 92.2% of the population identified as Hungarian, 4% as Roma, 0.9% as Ukrainian, 0.5% as German, and 1.6% as belonging to other non-domestic nationalities (7.6% did not declare; due to dual identities, the total may exceed 100%). In terms of religion, 47.8% were Roman Catholic, 19.5% Reformed, 5.1% Greek Catholic, 1.1% Lutheran, and 2.9% non-denominational (22.5% did not respond).[1]
