Grant (money)

A grant is money given by a government, company, foundation, or trust to a group, school, business, or person.[1] Unlike a loan, a grant does not need to be paid back. Grants help with a specific project or goal and often have rules about how the money can be used.[2][3]

People may need to write applications or proposals to get a grant. They might also have to follow rules and report on how they use the money.
