H. S. Doreswamy
Harohalli Srinivasaiah Doreswamy (10 April 1918 – 26 May 2021) was an Indian activist and journalist.[1] He turned 100 in April 2018.[2] He was known for being an important figure in the Indian independence movement. He worked alongside Gandhi during the movement. He was born in Harohalli, Mysore State, British Indian Empire.
After independence, Doreswamy continued to work as a journalist and social reformer. He raised his voice on many public issues, including corruption, education and the environment. He took part in movements to support farmers and to protect civil rights in India.
Doreswamy turned 100 years old in April 2018. He continued to be active in public life even after the age of 100, attending protests and writing articles.
Death
Doreswamy died on 26 May 2021 in Bangalore, Karnataka from cardiac arrest, aged 103.[3]
