Hansonism

Hansonism is a form of right-wing political ideology and is the political ideology of Pauline Hanson, the leader of the One Nation party.

Ideology

Described as a form of right-wing populism, Hansonism believes that a "Multicultural Elite" manipulates "Hardworking Australians" into supporting certain polices such as indigenous land rights and welcome to country ceremonies and rights for minority groups including Aboriginal Australians are a form of reverse racism and anti-equal.

Hansonism supports Economic nationalism and opposes Economic rationalism. Hansonism supports the re-introduction of tariffs, government ran banks, renewing and supporting local manufacturing and is critical of multinational cooperations.

In 1998, Kukathas and Maley identified two branches of Hansonism: Soft Hansonism and Hard Hansonism. Hard Hansonism are the policies directly supported such as anti-Asian sentiment, an attachment to the White Australia Policy and criticism of multiculturalism. Soft Hansonism are policies taken more mild or are promoted by non-One Nation members by such as strong opposition to asylum seekers.
