Metropolitan Herman (born Joseph Swaiko, February 1, 1932 – September 6, 2022)[1] was the primate of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). He was the [2] Archbishop of Washington and New York, and Metropolitan of All America and Canada.
He was elected Metropolitan on 22 July 2002, replacing Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor).[3]
