Jake Canuso (born 13 January 1970) is a Swiss-British actor and dancer, best known for portraying the role of Mateo Castellanos in the British comedy series Benidorm (2007–2018).[1] He was born in Switzerland to parents from Italy. His family moved to England shortly after he was born.[2]

Canuso has appeared in several films and TV shows including The Dark Knight Rises, Bad Education and Casualty. He has also appeared in music videos for artists including Kylie Minogue, Elton John and Emma Bunton.[3] In 2004, Canuso survived the Indian ocean tsunami.
