Jean-Luc Dehaene (Dutch pronunciation: [ʒɑ̃ːˈlyk d̪əˈɦäːn̪ə] ( listen) 7 August 1940 – 15 May 2014), nicknamed "The Plumber" or "The Minesweeper",[1] was a Belgian politician. He served as Prime Minister of Belgium from 1992 until 1999. He was also mayor of Vilvoorde.
Dehaene, who had been suffering from pancreatic cancer, died after a fall while in France, aged 73.
