James David Matheson (born March 21, 1960) is an American politician, lobbyist and businessman. He was a United States Representative from Utah from 2001 to 2015. He represented Utah's 2nd district from 2001 to 2013 and its 4th district from 2013 to 2015 as a member of the Democratic Party.[1]
In December 2013, Matheson announced he would not run for re-election in the 2014 elections.[2]
When his political career ended, Matheson became a lobbyist.[3] In 2016, he was named the CEO of National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.[4][5]
