Sir John Huxtable Elliott FBA (23 June 1930 – 10 March 2022) was an English historian and Hispanist. He was Regius Professor Emeritus at the University of Oxford and Honorary Fellow of Oriel College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge.[1] He was born in Reading, Berkshire.
He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea in 1990.[2]
Elliott was hospitalized on 5 March 2022 for pneumonia and kidney failure in Oxford, Oxfordshire. He died five days later on 10 March at the age of 91.[3]
