Joshua Aaron Woods (born March 20, 1988) is an American professional wrestler. He currently wrestles for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and their sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). and is a member of The Premier Athletes stable.

Woods has also competed in WWE on their NXT brand.

In ROH, Woods was a one-time ROH Pure Champion and was the winner of the ROH Top Prospect Tournament in 2017.

Career

WWE

In 2014, Woods started to train at the Performance Center after signing a contract with WWE.[1] He made his WWE in-ring debut in a 20-man Battle Royal which was won by Scott Dawson.[2] His last match with WWE was on July 23 and he was defeated by Mojo Rawley. He was released afterwards.[3]

Ring of Honor

At Death Before Dishonor XVIII, Woods defeated Jonathan Gresham to become the ROH Pure Champion.[4] He lost the title to Wheeler Yuta at Supercard of Honor XV.[5]

All Elite Wrestling

On December 12, 2021 episode of Dark, Woods made his AEW debut and lost to Shawn Spears.[6] He then split time between AEW and their sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). On the May 17 episode of Dark, Woods challenged Yuta to a rematch for the ROH Pure Championship but lost.[7] On the September 16 episode of Rampage,Woods challenged Samoa Joe for the ROH World Television Championship but lost.[8] He then began to start teaming with Tony Nese. On the October 21 episode of Rampage, Woods and Nese, now going by the name The Varsity Athletes, challenged The Acclaimed for the AEW World Tag Team Championship but lost.[9]
