Kairouan Governorate (Tunisian Arabic: ولاية قيروان Wilāyat Qiyrwān) is one of the twenty-four governorates of Tunisia. It is in the central-eastern part of the country. It covers an area of 6,712 km².[1] As of the 2014 census, 570,559 people lived there.[2][3] The capital is Kairouan.
