Khatana (Gojri: खटाणा) is a royal clan of Gurjars.[1][2][3] It is historically associated with the Kingdom of Khattan and the Kingdom of Khotan. Khatana simply means the "Rana of Khattan". This Clan is associated with the Kshatriya varna and the Gurjar Caste.
The Khatana Clan is a Branch of Leva(Lore) Gurjars and the Pratihar Gurjars. This clan is associated with the Suryavanshi lineage. The Khatana Gurjars have ruled several kingdoms like The Hindu Shahi Dynasty, The Princely State of Samthar and The Princely State of Swat(Pakistan). [4]
The Gurjar Descendents of Raja Lava (Son of Lord Rama) are called Loove Gurjars or Leva Gurjars.
