Walter Kurt Schrader (born October 19, 1951) is an American politician and veterinarian. He was the U.S. representative for Oregon's 5th congressional district from 2009 to 2023. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He was a member of both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly from 1997 to 2008.[1]

Schrader ran for reelection in 2022, however he lost the Democratic nomination to progressive Jamie McLeod-Skinner.[2] McLeod-Skinner would go on to lose the election to Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer.[3]
