La Paz is a small town located in North Township, Marshall County, Indiana. Founded in 1873 and named after La Paz, Bolivia, the town was historically served by the Chicago branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, now operated by CSX. As of the 2020 census, La Paz had a population of 475, a decline from 561 in 2010. The town has a total area of 0.39 square miles, all land, and is at an elevation of 863 feet. La Paz is near the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and Indiana State Road 931. U.S. Route 31 passes just east of the town. The community is served by the Union-North United School Corporation. Notable people from La Paz include Pentecostal minister Gerald Archie Mangun and Indiana state legislator Donald Yeagley.[1]
