Lazarus of Bethany
Lazarus of Bethany is a person mentioned in the New Testament. The Gospel of John (11:41-44) says that Jesus resurrected him.[1]
The story is so famous that the word Lazarus is often used to refer to things that appear again after being apparently disappeared, for example, the Lazarus taxon.
Narration
According to the Gospel of John, Lazarus was a friend of Jesus who lived on Bethany with his two sisters. He got very ill and Jesus went to visit him, but later he went to predicate with the disciples to Judea. Lazarus died while they were outside, something that made his sisters sad, because they thought he would not have died it Jesus remained in the house.
The sisters told Jesus the news and then he went to the tomb, ordered to remove the rock covering it and said "Lazarus, come forth!" and his friend came back to life.
