Liberal Republican Party (United States)
The Liberal Republican Party was a political party made in the United States in May 1872 to go against the reelection of Ulysses S. Grant and his Radical Republican supporters in the presidential election of 1872. The party was made in Missouri with senator Carl Schurz as its leader. It got the attention of other opponents of Grant. The party was against Grant's Reconstruction policies, including the Enforcement Acts. It lost by a lot, and was gone after the 1872 election.
