Limousine

A limousine, or limo for short,[1] is a large, nice vehicle driven by a chauffeur (someone who drives for work). The driver and the passenger are split by a partition (a wall that can be opened and closed), which is used by hand or a button.[2] A stretch limousine is a nice vehicle that is longer than normal, and driven by a professional.[3] In some countries like the United States, Germany, Canada, and Australia, a limousine service can refer to any car with a driver, not always a nice vehicle. In these countries, ‘limousine services’ are airport shuttle services, even if they use other vehicles.[2]

In the modern world, limousines are used for many purposes. They are commonly used for travel to and from airports, for weddings, for parties, for business trips, and for other special events. Some services monitor flight schedules so that drivers can meet passengers when flights are delayed.

Limousines may vary in size and type. Standard sedans are often used for small groups or business travel. Stretch limousines are longer cars that can carry more passengers and are frequently used for celebrations. Some limousines are sport utility vehicles or vans, which can carry larger groups. Modern limousines may have partitions, entertainment systems, and other comfort features to improve the passenger experience. The vehicles are typically well-maintained and driven by trained chauffeurs.
