List of Angom kings
The list of Angom kings outlines the lineage of rulers from the Angom dynasty, one of the remarkable ruling groups in Ancient Kangleipak (early Manipur). The Angom dynasty played a major role in the early history of the region, mainly with the closest alliance with the Meitei kingdom. This is the list of Angom kings until their absorption by the Ningthouja dynasty according to Sagei Salairol and the Cheitharol Kumbaba.[1][2][3][4]
List
According to the Sagei Salairol, which is the genealogical book of the seven clans (Yek Salai) of the Meitei people, there were 26 principal Angom kings of the independent Angom dynasty.[5] But, with Cheitharol Kumbaba, there were 4 more independent Angom kings. But if the 5 unofficial Angom kings under Meitei kingdom were included, the total number comes to 35.[6] The founder of the Angom clan was Pureiromba.[7][4]
