Little Bear: The Movie
Little Bear: the Movie is a 2001 adventure family film released in 2001 on DVD and VHS, and also aired on Nick Jr. It follows over a Little Bear, who encounters a wild, rambunctious, bear cub, named Cub. Upon learning that cub got separated from his family, little bear and his friends embark on a journey to help him find his family, while dealing with an evil mountain lion.
Plot
The film opens with little Bear Going camping with his father, as he is excited since they will go camping together. While setting up the tent and looking for sticks to Kindle, the fire, Little Bear encounters a wild bear, named Cub, who is very rambunctious and wild. Little Bear welcomes him to the camping trip. He and his father are hosting, and, despite his father being concerned about the little strange cub, he allows him to stay.
Little Bear and cub have trouble getting along, despite little bears mother saying that it takes time. On the visit, his grandfather‘s house, little bear goes to visit his friends and encounters a goose with her ducklings. However, cub takes one of the ducklings and floats it in a mud puddle. Little Bear goes into a tree, the boat and the duckling, only to end up getting dirty. He blames him, despite Cub telling him that was not his fault. Little bear’s family says that since Cub is an orphan, he’s might as well stay with them until someone adopt him. Frustrated, Little Bear tells Cub to back off from him.
The next morning, Little Bear introduces cub to his friends. They freak out, but after bear managed to calm them down, Cub explains that he doesn’t know his parents. In order to help him, they decide to go looking. LittleBear makes a map, only for cub to eat the map when he is told to watch it. A frustrated little bear and cub getting into an argument and chase, causing messes around the place. Little bears, father disciplines them, saying that little bear can clean the attic, and Cub can trim the bush. Frustrated, little bear tells that it was cub’s fault, but both are subsequently sent to their rooms.
That night, they leave as Mama is preparing them dinner and leave with their friends to look for his parents. Little Bear's Mama comes upstairs to tell her son that it’s time for supper, only to find no response. She had first things he is pranking her, but discovers he’s not anywhere. She tells Little Bear’s father, and they find them missing. Little Bear and Cub find a cave to sleep in, but the cave they were sleeping it was actually a mountain lion. They get chased by the mountain lion and jump off a waterfall, while the mountain lion tries to get stuck in tree branches. After resurfacing, they reunite with their friends and continue.
Goose tells Bear that they have to pass through a field that contains valley fever. Cub pushes bear and runs, but sees that bear has gone asleep because of the valley fever. He carries them out, splashes him with cool water, and feeds him mashed berries until he regain consciousness. After a while, they encountered the mountain lion again. Luckily, fox gathers many fireflies to chase him off, and it uses them to guide the light. While taking shelter with the fireflies during the rain storm, call reveals to bear that he has no parents, the only thing he had was his grandparents. He loved going fishing with his father in their favorite and special lake, and would go very with his mother, in order to make berry and honey soup. One day, he found a mysterious golden box with old things inside, and buried it in dirt. A few days later, while going camping alone, a wildfire spread quickly, causing many animals to evacuate, and cub lost his parents. As a result, he was sent to live with his grandparents. However, he ran away from them one day after they were talking about his rambunctious personalities after he ruined Grandpa’s pie machine, and he was wandering the woods, and found the box. He dug it out of the dirt, took it with him, and went to sleep in his tent, burying it so no one could find it.
The next morning, Bear, and his friends become pilots, traveling the large river. They encounter the mountain lion, wanting revenge from getting chased by the fireflies and getting caught in a branch. They managed to escape from him, but crash headfirst into a dam, getting swept away. Bear and cub, fall overboard, leaving their friends to swim for shore, targeted by the lion. With no choice, they are forced to hide underneath the hole as they wait for him to leave. Bear and cub awaken to find themselves in the care of the fireflies, who have lifted them out of the water. However, their lights are waterlogged, and only a few can still work. Bear gets a glowing bug to light the way in order to find his friends.
After rescuing his friends and distracting the mountain lion, they are soon found by Little Bear’s parents. Little Bear’s mother and father ground their son for three months, angry at him for sneaking out. But cub reveals it was his fault since he ate the map and was the cause of all the troubles and messes. He then tells his backstory about how he became an orphan. Feeling pity for him (with Papa driven to tears by the story), they decide to go look for his grandparents.
After finding the grandparents cave and climbing, they find them out of lion, having found them. The mountain lion tries to eat them, but everyone works together to trap the mountain lion. Little bear scolds the lion for chasing them, and tells him that, as punishment, he will go around and apologize to every animal. They free him begrudgingly, and he runs off to apologize. They finally reached the cave, reuniting with cubs grandparents. Cub apologizes for running away and they forgive him. Little bear and his family return back home, Bear admitting to his parents sadly that he’s going to miss Cub. The next morning, cub and his grandparents come, with some special honey and berry soup and some pie machine that has been fixed by grandpa when Cub was away. They decide to go on a camping trip and enjoy eating, as the movie ends with them having fun on their camping trip.
