Mac. Robertson Land
Mac. Robertson Land is a part of Antarctica in the eastern part of the continent. It is located at the coast, between William Scoresby Bay and Cape Darnley. Mawson Station is located at this region.
Geography
This region is known for its rugged landscape, which includes the Prince Charles Mountains. It is bordered by glaciers and the Amery Ice Shelf, a large ice shelf that flows into the ocean.
History and Claims
Mac. Robertson Land was discovered by a British-Australian-New Zealand expedition led by Sir Douglas Mawson in the 1930s. It was named after Sir Macpherson Robertson, a businessman who helped fund the expedition.[1]
The region is located within the Australian Antarctic Territory, an area claimed by Australia. Like other claims in Antarctica, this one is not recognized by all countries.
