Mannar District (Tamil: மன்னார் மாவட்டம் Maṉṉār Māvaṭṭam; Sinhala: මන්නාරම දිස්ත්රික්කය) is one of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka. Districts are the second-level administrative divisions of the country. The capital of the district is the town of Mannar.
Geography
Mannar District is in the north west of Sri Lanka. It is part of the Northern Province. It has an area of 1,996 square kilometres (771 sq mi).[1]
