Master Hirannaiah
Hirannaiah or Hirannayya known by his stage name Master Hirannaiah (15 February 1934 – 2 May 2019) was an Indian movie actor.[1] His best known roles include ...Re (2016), Care of Footpath 2 (2015) and No. 73, Shanthi Nivasa (2007). He was mainly a theatre actor. He was born in Mysore, Karnataka. [2]
Early life
Master Hirannaiah was born on 15 February 1934 in Mysore, Karnataka.[3] His father was K. Hirannaiah, a popular theatre actor and director. From a young age, Master Hirannaiah showed interest in acting. He learned theatre from his father and started acting on stage when he was still a child. This is how he got the name "Master" Hirannaiah.
Theatre career
Master Hirannaiah became very famous in the Kannada theatre world. He acted in many plays that spoke about social problems and politics. His acting style was full of humor and strong messages. He led the Kalanilaya theatre group and performed in many towns and cities across Karnataka.
He was known for speaking the truth through his plays. Some of his famous stage plays include Lanchavathara, Samsaradalli Sarigama and Bhrashtachara. Many people liked his shows because they made them laugh and think at the same time.[4]
Death
Hirannaiah died on 2 May 2019 at a hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka of problems caused by liver disease, aged 85.[5]
