Mawlid
Mawlid is the commemoration to remember the birth of Prophet Muhammad. It falls on the day of 12th day of Rabi al-Awal of Islamic calendar every year. The day is recognised as a public holiday in most Muslim countries with the exception of Saudi Arabia. The celebrations are considered bid'ah by the majority of Deobandi and Salafi scholars.[1][2][3]
