Michael Ryan Flatley (born July 16, 1958)[1] is an Irish-American dancer. He became known for Irish dance shows Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames, and Celtic Tiger Live.

In 2003, Flatley was treated for a malignant melanoma.[2] In January 2023, Flatley announced that he had surgery for "an aggressive form of cancer".[3][4]

In July 2025, Flatley announced his candidacy for President of Ireland in the 2025 presidential election.[5] He dropped out of the race in September 2025.
