Michal Aharony

Michal Aharony is an Israeli political scientist specialized in political philosophy and Holocaust studies.[1]

Overview

Aharony is one of the editors of The Journal of Holocaust Research,[1][2] a bilingual peer-reviewed academic journal[3] published quarterly[a] by the Weiss-Livnat International Center for Holocaust Research and Education, Routledge[b], and the Ghetto Fighters' House.[3] As of June 2025, she has an h-index of 5 and an i10-index of 2.[5]

Early life

Aharony got a BA in international relations and an MA in political science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.[6]

Career

Aharony did her PhD at the New School for Research in New York City. She worked as a research fellow at the Miles Lerman Center for the Study of Jewish Resistance[c][6] and the Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center for German-Jewish Literature & Cultural History[8] for the project "Total Domination: Between Conception and Experience: Rethinking the Arendtian Account through Holocaust Testimony", then as an adjunct instructor at Hofstra University, and a research assistant at The Lauder School of Government, Policy and Diplomacy at the Inter-Disciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel,[6] before joining The Journal of Holocaust Research.[1]
