Nagyhuta
Nagyhuta (Slovak: Veľká Huta) is a village in Sátoraljaújhely District of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Its population in 2024 was 78.
Location
It is located in the central part of the Zemplén Mountains, 92 kilometers northeast of the county seat, Miskolc.
History
The settlement was founded in the 18th century.
Population
In 2022, 91.9% of the population identified as Hungarian, 24.3% as Slovak, 2.7% as German, 2.7% as Romanian, 2.7% as Ukrainian, and 13.5% as other non-local nationalities (8.1% did not respond; due to dual identities, the total may exceed 100%). Regarding religion, 51.4% were Roman Catholic, 2.7% Reformed, 2.7% Greek Catholic, 5.4% other Christian (37.8% did not answer).[1]
