The National Television Awards (also called NTAs) is a big British television awards ceremony. It is shown on the ITV network. The first show was in 1995.[1]
The winners are chosen by the public, not by judges.
History
The first ceremony were held in August 1995. Eamonn Holmes was the host. The event took place at the Wembley Conference Centre.[1]
From 1996, the NTAs happened every year in October. They moved to the Royal Albert Hall and were hosted by Trevor McDonald. McDonald hosted for 12 years and retired after the 2008 show.[2]
