Neutral oxide

Neutral oxides are oxides which are neither acidic nor basic. In other words, oxides which neither react with acids or with bases are called neutral. They are different from amphoteric oxides, which can act as both acidic and as basic oxides.[1]

Examples of neutral oxides

  1. Nitrous oxide (N2O)
  2. Nitric oxide (NO)
  3. Carbon monoxide (CO)
  4. Hydrogen Monooxide(H2O)
