The Nissan S-Cargo is a small retro-style van made by Nissan from 1989 to 1991.
History and Features
The Nissan S-Cargo was debuted on the Tokyo Motor Show in 1989, and was inspired by the Citroën 2CV Fourgonnette delivery van[1] The name is a double entendre; the name means "Small Cargo" but sounds like "Escargot," which is a French word meaning snail. The S-Cargo has a 1.5 liter engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. It was one of Nissan`s "pike cars" alongside the Nissan Figaro, the Nissan Be-1, and the Nissan Pao. Features include an oval-shaped portal window on both sides of the van.
Markets
The Nissan S-cargo was sold exclusively in Japan but it was imported to other countries outside Japan.
Discontinuation
The production of the Nissan S-Cargo ended in 1991. Production is estimated between 10685 units and 12000 units made.
