Otodus auriculatus meaning "Small ear-shapped tooth"[1] from Ancient Greek ὠτ (ōt, meaning "ear") and ὀδούς (odoús, meaning "tooth") – thus, "ear-shaped tooth" and "auriculata" or "lathus" meaning small, is an extinct species of megatooth shark that lived in Eocene to Oligocene. He is a related species on the famous megalodon.
Size
The O. auriculatus was a large than the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias), the largest specimens measured 9.5 to 10 meters (30-33 ft) in lenght.[2] The smaller individuals measured 4-4.5 metres long and is compared on the Tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) and the current Mako Shark (Isurus oxyrinchus).
