History
Paramount Network was initially launched in 1983 as The Nashville Network by WSM Incorporated, a radio station located in Nashville, and Group W. The channel initially broadcasted country music videos, country-related variety shows, game shows, talk shows, and bull riding. In 1987, Gaylord Communications purchased WSM and TNN, who had previously produced much of their programming. Some of TNN's popular on-air talent included local Nashville media personalities Ralph Emery, Dan Miller, Charlie Chase and Lorianne Crook, as well as established stars such as country music singer Bill Anderson and actresses Florence Henderson and Dinah Shore.
