Peacemaker (character)
Peacemaker is the name of a series of superheroes originally owned by Charlton Comics and later bought by DC Comics. The original Peacemaker first appeared in Fightin' 5 #40 (November 1966). It was created by writer Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyette.[1]
Fictional character biography
The Peacemaker is Christopher Smith, a pacifistic diplomat so committed to peace that he is willing to use force as a superhero to advance the cause. He uses an array of special non-lethal weapons and also founded the Pax Institute. Most of the villains he battles are dictators and warlords.
In other media
The Christopher Smith version of Peacemaker made his cinematic debut in James Gunn's DC Extended Universe movie The Suicide Squad (2021), played by John Cena, who starred in his role again in a self-titled television series for the streaming service HBO Max,[2] as well as in the DC Universe (DCU) movie Superman (2025). The Smith version also appears as a DLC character in the "Kombat Pack" for Mortal Kombat 1.[3]
