Percy Shaw

Percy Shaw was an English inventor, businessman, and scientist who created the 'Catseye, a reflective stud in the road to enhance visibility for the driver, especially at night or in foggy weather. It was inspired by a moment when Percy was driving through Scotland, and when he turned a corner he could see a cat sitting on a wall, and its retina (in its eyes) reflected the light coming from the car, making it easier for him to see his surroundings.
