Pierre Bertinotti (born in September 1952 in Metz) is a French economist, civil servant, and Freemason. He is President of the Grand Orient de France since August 2025.[1]

Biography

Born in Metz, he studied at HEC Paris, Sciences Po, and the École nationale supérieure des postes et télécommunications. Pierre Bertinotti did a career in administration. He served as technical advisor to Pierre Bérégovoy at the Ministry of Finance and then as Comptroller General for Economy and Finance until 2018.[2]

Pierre Bertinotti was also a Metz city councilor from 2001 to 2008 and currently runs a consulting firm. Since 2009, he has taught economics at CentraleSupélec and, since 2016, at the University of Lorraine.[3]

In August 2025, he was elected Grand Master of the Grand Orient de France.[4]
