The cow frog or Avelino's smooth horned frog (Proceratophrys avelinoi) is a frog. It lives in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.[2][3][1]

Home

This frog lives in small pieces of forest near streams. People sometimes see it in grassy places where animals eat grass. Scientists saw the frog between 150 and 1200 meters above sea level.[3][1]

This frog lives in some protected places: Reserva Natural Carapa, Reserva Natural Limoy, and Refugio Biológico Binacional de Mbaracaju. These places are not the same as other protected places. People still make farms and harvest trees there.[1]

Danger

Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is not in danger of dying out. People change the places where the frog lives by cutting down trees to get wood, make farms, and make places for cows to eat grass.[1]
