Meidingu Poirei Ningthou Hanba[1] Puranthaba or mononymously Puranthaba was a Meitei king of the Ningthouja dynasty of Ancient Kangleipak (early Manipur) who ruled from 1246 CE to 1262 CE.[2] During his reign, the Chinese invaded the Kangleipak Kingdom but were defeated by the Meiteis.[3][4]
The Khumans were also defeated by him for trying to regain their sovereignty by invading the Selloi-Langmais.[5] After defeating the Khumans, Puranthaba brought a lot of captives.[6]
He was a son of Chingthang Lanthaba and the brother of Khumomba and Thingbai Selhongba.[7]
