Subramanian Raja Krishnamoorthi[1] (/ˈrɑːdʒə ˌkrɪʃnəˈmʊərθi/ born July 19, 1973) is an Indian-born American businessman and politician. He is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 8th congressional district since 2017.
He was elected to replace Tammy Duckworth, who gave up the seat to successfully run for the U.S. Senate. Krishnamoorthi is a member of the Democratic Party.[2]
In May 2025, Krishnamoorthi announced that he would run for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Dick Durbin in the 2026 election.[3]
