Ramiro de León Carpio (January 12, 1942 – April 16, 2002) was a Guatemalan politician. He was the President of Guatemala from June 6, 1993, until January 14, 1996.
He was appointed to the position by the Guatemalan Congress, without being affiliated with any political party, following the dismissal of Jorge Serrano Elías. During his term, reforms were made to the Guatemalan Constitution and Congress was purged.[1][2]
De León died while in a diabetic coma at a Miami hospital on April 16, 2002, at the age of 60.[3]
