Rawal Rajputs
Rawal Rajputs are a Indian Rajput group. They are mainly found in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. Many traditions say they are connected to the old Guhila dynasty of Rajputs. Bappa Rawal, the founder of Mewar, is an important figure in their history.[1][2]
Origin
Rawal Rajputs say they come from the Chandravanshi (lunar) line of Kshatriya rulers. They link their history to Bappa Rawal of the Guhila dynasty. The word "Rawal" was also used as a title of respect for Rajput kings, such as Rawal Ratan Singh and Rawal Jaisal Bhati.[3]
