Regions of Gujarat
Gujarat is an Indian state. It is geographically located on the western side of India. Gujarat is divided into four major regions: South Gujarat, North Gujarat, Central Gujarat and Saurashtra.[1][2]
Regions
- South Gujarat: Is a region in Gujarat. It is divided into six districts: Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi, Dang, Valad, Surat, and Navsari.[2]
- North Gujarat: Is a region in Gujarat. It is further divided into seven districts: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Patan, Aravalli, Mehsana, and Sabarkantha.[2]
- Central Gujarat: Is a region in Gujarat. This region is further divided into six districts: Bharuch, Gandhinagar, Anand, Kheda, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara.[2]
- Saurashtra and Kutch
- Saurashtra region: Is an important region in Gujarat mostly covered by the Arabian Sea in the east, west, and south. It is further divided into seven districts: Rajkot, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, and Amreli.
- Kutch: Is a region in western Gujarat: it shares a border with Sindh, Pakistan, and the Arabian Sea.
