Reiwa era

Reiwa period (令和時代, Reiwa jidai) is a Japanese era (年号,, nengō,, lit. "year name") after Heisei. It is the current Japanese era. It is also called the Reiwa era. This era started on 1 May 2019. This is the day Japanese' Emperor Akihito's elder son, Naruhito, became Emperor of Japan. Naruhito is Japan's 126th Emperor.[1]
Politics
- 2019 (Reiwa 1) Shinzo Abe is the prime minister
- 2020 (Reiwa 2) Abe is the prime minister until his resignation. Yoshihide Suga replaces him.
- 2021 (Reiwa 3) Suga is the prime minister until his resignation. Fumio Kishida replaces him.
- 2022 (Reiwa 4) Kishida is the prime minister.
- 2023 (Reiwa 5) Kishida is the prime minister.
- 2024 (Reiwa 6) Kishida is the prime minister until his resignation. Shigeru Ishiba replaces him.
- 2025 (Reiwa 7) Ishiba is the prime minister until his resignation.
