Retard (word)

Retard is considered an offensive term for someone with a disability. Initially a medical term, since the 70s, it is used as either an insult towards disabled people or for someone foolish. If they were referring to a retard, they would call the person retarded. People often use this word in a joking manner, practically calling their friend (or whomever) stupid.
