Rhabdoviridae, or Rhabdovirus, is a family of RNA viruses that includes the rabies virus and lyssavirus.

Rabies is a deadly virus.[1] Rabid mammals – like dogs, cats, monkeys and rabbits – carry the virus in their saliva and can infect humans by biting them.[2][3] The virus can cause encephalitis, coma, paralysis, and death.[1]
