Rhamnus is a genus of plants in the Rhamnaceae family. They are commonly known as buckthorns. There are around 110 species, and their height can be anywhere from 1 to 15 meters. Rhamnus species are called buckthorns because they have spines on their twigs.[1] One common species is Rhamnus cathartica, the common buckthorn.
