Sárazsadány

Sárazsadány is a village in Sárospatak District of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Its population in 2024 was 236.

Location

It lies 9 kilometres southwest of Sárospatak, between Vámosújfalu and Bodrogolaszi, directly on the banks of the Bodrog.

History

The settlement was formed by the merger of the villages of Bodrogsára and Bodrogzsadány in 1949.

Population

In 2022, 87% of the population identifiedas Hungarian, 3% as Gypsy, 0.9% as German, 6.1% as other non-Hungarian (12.2% did not declare; due to dual identities, the total may be higher than 100%). By religion, 27.8% were Roman Catholic, 10% Reformed, 13.9% Greek Catholic, 1.7% other Christian, 10.4% non-denominational (36.1% did not respond).[1]
