Saints Row (series)
Saints Row is a series of video games created by Volition game studios. It features mechanics similar to the Grand Theft Auto series. Starting from Saints Row was released in 2006, Volition the game takes place in the fictional city of Stilwater, plagued by urban violence between four rival gangs. Playa, caught in the middle of the violence, is offered the chance to join the 3rd Street Saints to help fight the other gangs. In addition to several common elements with the Grand Theft Auto series, Saints Row introduces many additional features, including extensive Player Customization, a 64-vehicle garage, a GPS, an activity and respect system, and online multiplayer modes.
Saints Row 2 was released in 2008 and veers into more outlandish territory with its gameplay than Saints Row, in spite of the cutscenes and story being darker.
Saints Row: The Third was released in 2011 and decided to experiment with dark humour and unrealistic gameplay, ranging from impossible air stunts to the inclusion of a dildo bat as a weapon. Afterwards, Volition decided to completely abandon realistic game physics and graphics.
Saints Row IV was released in 2013 and modified the gameplay, allowing the player to fly and use superpowers, rendering the use of motor vehicles impractical.
Saints Row Gat out of Hell was released in 2015 and was set in Hell with the use of superpowers again.
Saints Row was released in 2022 and the reboot takes place in the fictional city of Santo Ileso in the American southwest, and follows a new gang, simply called The Saints, as they attempt to take control of the city from the different gangs ruling it.
