Santonio Holmes Jr. (born March 3, 1984[1]) is an American former professional football wide receiver. He played parts of nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, and Chicago Bears.
He was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2006 NFL Draft. He played for the Ohio State Buckeyes in college. In Super Bowl XLIII, Holmes caught the game-winning throw from Ben Roethlisberger.[2] He played one more year with Pittsburgh before going to the Jets in 2010.[3]
On October 10, 2017, Holmes officially retired from playing professional football.[4]
