Semnan (pronounced [semˈnɒːn], also Romanized as Semnān and Samnān)[2] is a Semnani Caspiani city in and capital of Semnan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 124,999, in 36,298 families.[3] Semnan is located 216 kilometers east of Tehran.
