Carbaryl

Carbaryl is an insecticide (a chemical compound used to kill insects).[1] It is also known by the brand name Sevin.

History

The Bhopal disaster, the worst industrial accident in history, happened at a chemical plant making carbaryl. An explosion at the plant released methyl isocyanate, one of the main ingredients in carbaryl.
